Head of Supply Chain/ Supply Chain Director Artemis Executive Search are delighted to have been exclusively retained by leading multi-discipline specialist contractor Dowds Group as they seek to appoint a Head of Supply Chain/ Supply Chain Director. This exciting opportunity is ideally suited to a candidate who is ready to step up to Senior Leadership. You will have the autonomy to direct and drive Supply Chain Management and Procurement for a large Group operation, whilst also supporting the Board of Directors in achieving the strategic vision of the wider Group. Established in 1978 Dowds Group has evolved over the years from a specialist M&E subcontractor into a multi-faceted Construction company covering M&E, Construction, Facilities Management and Energy. Covering a broad spectrum of project type, they are specifically known for their work in cutting-edge Healthcare, Education, Leisure, and Commercial sectors. Due to continued sustained growth the company has recognised the need for an experienced senior Supply Chain professional to join their senior leadership team. This strategic role, reporting directly to the board, will oversee the Group's supply of products and services. You will be responsible for shaping the overall supply chain and procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, evaluating products and services, negotiating contracts, and securing cost-effective deals without compromising quality. You will develop procurement strategies that align with business objectives, implement risk management measures, advance the innovation agenda, and drive the achievement of sustainability goals. As Head of Supply Chain, you will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure the best terms while aligning with Group sustainability and cost-saving goals. You'll lead strategic sourcing initiatives, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement measures that support our companys strategy. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you'll develop procurement strategies that meet business needs and deliver measurable results. Your role will also involve monitoring market trends, driving cost reduction without compromising quality, and maintaining contingency plans to address potential disruptions. Additionally, you'll provide leadership to the supply chain team, ensuring alignment with KPIs and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in Supply Chain or Procurement Management, supported by a CIPS qualification, a degree, or a relevant technical certification. You have a proven track record in leading Supply Chain Management within a Group organisation, and ideally have some knowledge of Construction / Building Services. With excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, experience of conducting root cause analysis and achieving cost saving targets, you have delivered sustainable procurement and are well versed in continuous improvement methodologies. A strong communicator and leader you guide and motivate high-performing cross functional teams, make data-driven decisions, and maintain a customer-focused approach to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
