Design Technology Teacher  Location: Tunbridge Wells Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: October 2024 Contract: Full-time, long-term GSL Education Kent are seeking an experienced and passionate Design Technology Teacher with specialisms in Resistant Materials, Product Design, and Engineering to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Tunbridge Wells. The role will involve teaching students up to A-Level, helping them develop practical and theoretical skills in preparation for their future careers. As a DT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that inspire creativity, innovation, and problem-solving among students. You will teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, fostering a learning environment that encourages students to explore and challenge themselves within the fields of design, materials, and engineering. Design Technology Teacher Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and dynamic lessons in Resistant Materials, Product Design, and Engineering. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring they meet the requirements of the curriculum. Support students in developing practical skills, including the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment in the workshop. Encourage innovation and creative thinking through project-based learning. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills and understanding. Lead extracurricular activities and projects related to Design and Technology, including design competitions and engineering challenges. The Ideal Design Technology Teacher Will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) with experience in teaching DT. Have strong subject knowledge and experience teaching Resistant Materials, Product Design, and Engineering up to A-Level. Be able to plan and deliver innovative lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities. Have excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Be passionate about   and able to inspire students to develop their creative and practical skills. Be proactive in promoting student participation in design challenges and engineering projects.
