Job Requirements / Description
About the Role:
This role is crucial in ensuring that goods are delivered to customers worldwide in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while complying with international legislation. Reporting to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of export coordination and logistics management. The company operates across a global network, covering over 50 countries, with subsidiaries in France and the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage export/import orders, ensuring compliance with UK and destination country regulations.
• Coordinate with couriers and freight forwarders to ship goods in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Prepare all necessary export and shipping documentation.
• Communicate shipping details and tracking information to customers.
• Maintain compliance with changing export regulations, including post-Brexit customs changes.
• Liaise with sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient dispatch and delivery.
• Collaborate with overseas subsidiaries and partners.
• Complete banking paperwork such as Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.
• Oversee customs compliance and manage any regulatory risks.
• Use logistics and export software to track and manage shipments.
• Ensure freight insurance and manage any export-related returns or complaints.
• Implement sustainable practices where possible, such as eco-friendly couriers and packaging.
What You’ll Need:
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive and adaptable attitude with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers, couriers, and internal teams.
• Understanding of export processes, customs compliance, and logistics software.
• A-Level or equivalent education with a background in business, logistics, or international trade being beneficial.
• IT proficiency, particularly with ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Desirable Experience:
• 2-3 years of experience in export administration or logistics, with knowledge of shipping documentation and procedures.
• Familiarity with UK export laws and post-Brexit requirements.
• Understanding of Incoterms and customs software.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in export logistics to join a dynamic team in a company that operates on a global scale.
The role could be scaled down for someone who has excellent admin skills within an engineering environment on the basis that you could be developed over time into the export role. This would be reflected in an offer at the lower end of the salary banding
