Lead Data Scientist - Insurance £90,000 - £110,000 - Hybrid in London My client are a digital insurance broker, focused on business insurance. They aim to simplify the complexities of insurance for small businesses, sole traders, landlords and high-growth firms, regardless of risk, geography or industry. They are simply leading in the space and their technology underpins this. As a Lead Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for steering the data science strategy and deliver innovative uses of AI into the insurance industry. You'll report directly to the Head of Data and have a chance to make an immediate impact with a focus on enhancing revenue and team efficiencies. You'll own and lead data science projects from initial concept to implementation, with a focus on customer needs and business objectives. ? You'll have a chance to work across the business and see how Data Science can positively impact different departments. ? You'll be using ML methodologies to contribute to the pricing optimization strategy. ? Design, plan, and implement scalable and future-proof data science applications and pipelines ? Monitor and maintain data science products post-launch. An experienced Senior Data Scientist or pre-existing Lead that's happy to be hands on. ? Technical expertise in Python, SQL, FastAPI (or similar) ? Experience working with real-time data applications ? Fundamental understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence - GBMs, GLMs, probability calibration, clustering, linear optimization, neural networks etc.) ? Experimental/ creative mindset when it comes to the potential use cases of AI and machine learning techniques and how they can be applied. ? Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics or computer science
