An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Engineer to join a national practice of Design professionals. This role involves delivering fire engineering design solutions across a wide variety of sectors, including Cities & Development, Commercial, Energy, Residential, and Transportation.
The Fire Engineer Role
As a Fire Engineer, you will:
Work on projects ranging from residential buildings to rail transportation and new energy facilities. Manage multiple engineering projects from inception through delivery, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and codes. Support the delivery of project work within time and cost budgets. Stay updated with current regulations and legislation. Develop and implement fire engineering solutions on projects. Assess fire-related risks in projects and collaborate on mitigation strategies. Review and comment on the quality of fire safety installations. Participate in tenders for new projects. Prepare reports, attend design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as needed.Requirements
An engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering, or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering (other backgrounds considered). Proven record of successfully delivering fire safety projects - experience in other sectors strongly considered. Strong experience with multiple fire standards such as BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545. Customer and end user-centric approach, fostering this philosophy within the team. Working towards chartered fire engineer status. Flexible approach to the working environment. Willingness to travel is advantageous. Fire modelling experience is beneficial. Good commercial awareness. Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.What's on Offer
