A well established and highly reputable specialist Temporary Works Design Consultancy have an opening for a Structural Engineer to join their proficient and experienced team at their Central London office.
The consultancy has around 70 staff and is the in house design arm for a major contractor but also have much of their own external works as well.
You would need at least some years of experience working in a buildings environment as a structural engineer be considered for this role, as well as the full right to work in the UK and be living within commuting distance. If you have temporary works design experience already, that would be preferable but not essential.
The role will also include some permanent works design and geotechnical works.
You will be given exposure to a wide variety of challenging works, including working on a variety of large buildings design projects often involving high profile and complex buildings projects. There will be demolition works, needling and propping, fa ade retentions, foundation designs, stability and alteration works, basements, geotechnical works and some permanent works.
The role will be very varied and would suit a candidate with a problem solving can do attitude. Excellent communication skills and English are essential.
The emphasis here is on high quality design solutions in a contractor led, often reactive work environment, so you must be a clear thinker and happy to work in a fast paced environment.
An emphasis is put on having highly qualified staff so a desire to achieve Chartered status will be well received, and relevant training and support for this given.
In addition to base salary there is 25 days holiday, pension, annual bonus scheme, socials, one day work from home allowed if so wished.
