Job DescriptionMain Purpose of Job:A Syndicate Client Manager works to maximise and oversee the partnership between Asta and managed syndicates. The primary responsibility of the Client Manager is to build strong relationships with key stakeholders across a portfolio of syndicates, Lloyd’s and Asta to ensure each syndicate operates effectively within the Asta and Lloyd’s/PRA regulatory frameworks.The Syndicate Client Manager provides key support to the Chair of each Syndicate Board, informing and advocating for both Asta and the syndicate where appropriate. This role is part of a high functioning, multi-disciplinary team which provides client management, governance and general oversight to all Asta managed syndicates.Key Tasks:Facilitate a good working relationship between senior syndicate staff and Asta Managing Agency. Provide a key point of contact for the syndicate to raise and resolve escalations and ad hoc queries, as well as maintain a link with the Syndicate Board chair. Maintain a clear understanding of syndicate needs and Asta’s agreed service offering. Seek to align Asta and syndicate strategic objectives, including commercial considerations, and where appropriate seek cross sell opportunities across the wider Davies group.Partner with the Business Development team through the Lloyd’s Making It happen process to onboard and embed new syndicates into the Asta framework. Work with the syndicate, across Asta functions and with Lloyd’s to ensure expectations and processes are clearly defined, understood and operating effectively. Proactively facilitate the resolution of long-standing actions or issues – working with syndicates and across Asta functions to clarify and close actions.Support the internal Asta governance framework by being an active member of various Syndicate Boards and Asta committees. Responsible for various reports to the Syndicate Boards and other committees. Support the Head of Client Management with reporting to agency Board and the Exec. Share knowledge and information across Asta functions to improve the quality-of-service Asta provide to syndicates. Manage (where relevant) syndicates in transition including:A syndicate novating to a new Managing AgencyA syndicate externally RITC’ing either the full syndicate or certain years of account to another Managing AgencyA Syndicate-in-a-box transitioning to a full syndicateKey personal skills required:Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving objectives and solving problemsExcellent interpersonal skills, working collaboratively to build strong relationships both internally and externallyGood presentation and communication skills, with the ability to appropriately challenge both internal and external stakeholdersGood organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines across multiple stakeholdersOutcomes and solution focused with the ability to deliver consistently to a high standardKey technical skills, knowledge and professional qualifications required:Broad understanding of how a syndicate operates within the Lloyd’s market across various functionsUnderstanding of the governance/risk/compliance/regulatory responsibilities of a Lloyd’s Managing AgentExperienced in dealing with stakeholders - managing a portfolio of clients across key business functionsExperienced in delivering strategic priorities across different businesses
