In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative data architecture solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and compliance across a dynamic banking and financial services environment. You will play a critical role in defining architecture patterns, identifying gaps in current frameworks, and enhancing data governance and traceability within a hybrid cloud ecosystem.Position: GCP Cloud Data ArchitectLocation: London, UK - Hybrid (3 days per week)Job Type: Fixed term employment (FTE), 1 YearNote: No Sponsorship Available****Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design of cloud data architecture frameworks with a deep focus on GCP solutions, ensuring they align with modern data practices like Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and EventHub.Define detailed architecture patterns, including Data Analytics Platform functional blueprints, logical layers, and each layer's specific capabilities.Identify and design ingestion patterns across real-time, batch, structured, and unstructured data sources (e.g., images, PDFs).Analyze and enhance the Data Analytics Platform Architecture Playbook, identifying and closing any gaps.Develop a guided tooling framework using a scorecard-based approach to select appropriate engineering tools.Build frameworks for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data intake, including OCR solutions.Design and recommend robust solutions for data traceability, lineage, data quality (DQ), reconciliation, and observability within data ecosystems.Ensure full compliance with banking regulations and work with hybrid cloud environments to meet all regulatory requirements.Implement data governance frameworks, focusing on FinOps and regulatory compliance in the Data Analytics Platform.Lead the development of MVPs/POCs to validate architecture concepts and frameworks.Key Requirements5+ years of experience in Cloud Data Architecture, with a strong focus on GCP solutions.Expertise in defining and implementing advanced data architecture frameworks, including Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and event-driven architectures like EventHub.In-depth knowledge of data analytics platforms, including real-time, batch, and unstructured data ingestion patterns.Proven track record of building and enhancing Data Governance frameworks, particularly in regulated environments.Familiarity with banking regulations and the ability to integrate compliance into hybrid cloud ecosystems.Strong experience in implementing data traceability, lineage, data quality, and observability platforms.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.What We OfferA dynamic and collaborative working environment with flexibility in a hybrid model.The opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud solutions within the financial services sector.A competitive salary and benefits package.
