Insight Global are currently seeking a fluent English-speaking (German or French language capabilities is advantageous) Sales Development Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Reading.


This role is a great opportunity to be coached and trained by a leading Electronics Manufacturing company, You will be working and directly building with their clients who are the leaders in the automotive, semiconductor and aerospace industries.


As a Sales Development Engineer, you are key to driving business growth. Representing our clients brands, finding new business opportunity and making a name for yourself. You will identify key contacts and decision-makers, qualify business opportunities, and leverage market insights to contribute to closed revenue and quota attainment. All while building your own brand and becoming a better salesperson.


Day to day:

  • Daily customer interaction through phone calls, client meetings and outside activities focusing around leads and prospecting to maximize pipeline & new business opportunities for targeted accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Account Managers, Marketing and Business Development teams.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in customer applications, trends & industries.
  • Define and execute prospecting activities with a strong focus on business impact for your clients while building out your network.
  • Create value propositions to both new and existing contacts.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship within the Global Sales Development team.
  • Collaborate with leadership to shape the future strategy of the Global Sales Development team.


Must haves:

  • Engineering background or experience to have a foundation of engineering basics and jargon (University degree or previous experience)
  • Great communications and soft skills with a focus on a sales mindset
  • Sales experience and/or industry experience in the Aerospace Defense, Semiconductor, or Transportation industry
  • Genuine desire to accelerate the company's business growth
  • Proactive, ownership-driven, creative, flexible, strategic thinker, and a hands-on, ‘doer' mentality
  • Motivated, hardworking and personable to build strong lasting relationships with clients


Pluses:

  • German or French language capabilities
  • Proven track record in defining strategy for demand or business generation
  • Experience with NI products or Offerings
