Ocean Import Operations & Account Manager

Position: Ocean Import Operations & Account Manager Location: Ipswich, IP10 Salary: £45,000 Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-17:00pm We are seeking a Senior Ocean Import Operations Specialist to join our team at our Ipswich premises. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freight forwarding, ocean import operations, and account management, with a focus on customer service, and business retention, working on long-standing, high-revenue customer accounts. Key Role & Responsibilities Manage and coordinate ocean import operations for high-revenue customer accounts Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction Coordinate with carriers, agents, and other service providers to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement Handle all aspects of import documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with applicable regulations Proactively identify and resolve any operational issues or customer concerns Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for account growth and expansion Essential Experience: 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on ocean import operations Proven track record of successfully managing key accounts Strong understanding of import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and international trade practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in relevant software and systems, including cargo tracking and management toolsBenefits: Salary range up to £45,000pa Bonus scheme 25 days holiday + BH Onsite parking Pay day treat day Discount platform Refer a friend scheme Employee assistance programme Role-related incentivesWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
