They are seeking a talented and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team and contribute to the continued success of their projects across Scotland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
- Preparation and submission of accurate cost plans, tender documents, and project valuations.
- Monitor project finances, including preparation of interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
- Measure and value work done on-site, ensuring that all variations are managed efficiently.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Provide financial advice and support to the project team to help manage project risks.
- Work closely with the project managers, design teams, and site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Engage in value engineering exercises to ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, preferably with a main contractor.
- RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
