Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN TA to join our supportive team in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This rewarding role involves working with children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in an inclusive school environment. About the Role: As an SEN TA in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, you will support students on an individual or small group basis, helping them reach their full potential. You will work closely with our teaching staff to create a positive and engaging learning experience for students with SLD and PMLD, ensuring that each child receives tailored assistance in a safe and nurturing setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one support and group interventions for students with SLD and PMLD. Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning programs. Use effective communication strategies, including visual aids, Makaton, or PECS, to aid the learning experience. Build positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence. Requirements: Experience working as an SEN TA, preferably in a setting with students with SLD and PMLD. (Preferred) Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to students’ varying needs. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility. A passion for supporting children with SEN in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Why Join Us?
