About the Company:

My EV Charging client is looking for a commercially minded and strategic Head of Forecourt Development to lead this initiative, unlocking new growth opportunities and ensuring the successful deployment of ultra-rapid charging stations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecourt Site Acquisition: Lead efforts to identify, acquire, and secure new forecourt locations for ultra-rapid EV charging stations, focusing on high-traffic areas with maximum commercial potential. Negotiate terms with landowners and forecourt operators to secure favourable deals.
  • Business Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy to expand our forecourt network. Identify key geographic areas for expansion and create actionable plans to drive long-term growth and market leadership.
  • Partnership Development: Build and nurture long-term relationships with forecourt operators, major fuel retailers, and other industry players to unlock new site opportunities. Act as the company’s main point of contact for high-level partnerships, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • End-to-End Project Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of site development, from initial prospecting and negotiation through to planning, deployment, and ongoing site management. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Lead high-stakes commercial negotiations, securing optimal financial and operational terms that drive both company growth and partner satisfaction. Ensure all agreements are structured for long-term value.
  • Maximising Site Performance: Oversee the performance of deployed sites, analysing data to optimise usage and identify opportunities for further expansion or improvement. Ensure that each site meets its commercial and operational objectives.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams—including operations, technical, legal, and marketing—to ensure the smooth execution of forecourt projects. Align internal resources to support the successful deployment and growth of each site.
  • Market Insights & Strategic Leadership: Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in both the forecourt and EV charging sectors. Provide insights and strategic direction to the leadership team to ensure continued growth and competitive advantage.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Champion the transition to electric vehicles by promoting the benefits of ultra-rapid charging infrastructure to partners and stakeholders. Lead efforts to align business activities with broader sustainability goals.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Site Acquisition & Business Development Expertise: Significant experience in site acquisition, business development, or partnership management, ideally within the EV charging, energy, real estate, or mobility sectors. Proven track record of identifying and securing high-value sites for infrastructure development.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute a growth strategy that drives expansion and market penetration. Experience in navigating complex, competitive markets and identifying new opportunities for value creation.
  • Senior Sales & Negotiation Skills: Extensive experience in leading commercial negotiations and closing large-scale deals, particularly with forecourt operators, retailers, or real estate partners. Ability to secure terms that are mutually beneficial and sustainable.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage the end-to-end process of site acquisition and development, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial metrics and drivers that influence site performance and ROI. Experience in structuring deals to optimise financial outcomes.
  • Relationship Management: Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across different industries. Strong personal credibility and the ability to inspire trust and confidence.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the forecourt, retail, or EV charging industries, with the ability to leverage this knowledge to drive strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Sustainability Passion: A strong commitment to sustainability and a passion for contributing to the transition to electric vehicles and cleaner energy solutions.
