Business Procurement Lead

DP World are currently recruiting for a Business Procurement Lead - UK&IRL . This role is to independently implement and execute procurement strategy for the UK&IRL region as a Business Procurement Partner, translating the business need to the category and implementing the category initiatives in your region whilst representing the Central European Procurement Team. With a primary focus on optimizing business efficiency and meeting business needs. Working remotely you will also need flexibility to travel to sites around the UK and Europe when required so a drivers licence is essential. Business partner with your stakeholder group on a tactical and operational level and identifying their business needs by acting as their partner on procurement topics. Independently implement and execute procurement strategy within the strategy of the procurement leadership team. Being the expert and visible/accessible in the UK&IRL on all procurement topics for your stakeholders. Participate and lead cross functional local teams as appropriate, provide a comprehensive review of: categories, supply base, cost drivers, market trends, supplier rationalization plans, supply positioning, sourcing strategies, and strategic actions. Maintain timely and accurate knowledge of all categories and procurement landscape and maintain accurate up-to-date cost records and analysis of trends. Identify business needs and collaborate with the Central European Procurement Team to initiate, draft and implement improvements, innovation and solutions for your (internal) customers. Generate and maintain accurate records according to established procedures for quotes, cost estimates, items, tooling, purchase orders, supplier performance, and commodity spend analysis, etc. Create and implement annual cost reduction strategies, including but not limited to: negotiate pricing ensuring the lowest price up-front, source new business per the approved commodity strategy, implement packaging and logistics improvements, etc. Make periodic visits to suppliers, perform risk assessments, onsite surveys, periodic supplier performance reviews, supplier development plans. Maintain, re-evaluate, and develop robust risk management systems to promote appropriate competition and ensure suppliers continuity. Analyze and validate contracts and agreements and communicate appropriately with Legal Department for full approval. Interface with supplier development for continuous improvement in the supply base, including but not limited to: managing the supply base for a given commodity, focus on continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and value. 5 years of relevant experience in procurement. ~ Experience of the logistics / haulage / warehousing industry highly desireable ~ Proven experience to implement and execute procurement strategy. ~ Good understanding of purchasing applications (Oracle, SAP etc.). ~ Strong expert knowledge in the procurement landscape. ~ Fluent in the English language on a business level and preferably an additional language. ~ Ability to travel when required to sites across UK and EUROPE Compensation We offer a market competitive compensation package.
