Requirement: Quantity Surveyor – EPC Gas Transmission Project Location: North West England Package: £55,000 - £60,000 + excellent benefits & car Job Overview: You will be responsible for the effective financial management and contractual administration of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) gas transmission projects. This involves ensuring project costs are accurately managed, contracts are well-administered, and financial risks are mitigated. The role will focus on driving value, managing procurement and contracts, and ensuring accurate reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project. Key Responsibilities Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring the project stays within budget. Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports and forecasts, identifying any variances. Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the project team and senior management. Conduct cost analysis to ensure the best value for money across all project elements. Contract Administration: Manage contracts under NEC3/NEC4 (or equivalent) frameworks, ensuring compliance with all contract terms and conditions. Review and negotiate contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure financial accuracy. Procurement: Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, materials, and services, ensuring that all purchases align with project budgets. Manage subcontractor accounts, including the preparation of payment schedules and certifying payments. Valuations and Payments: Carry out regular valuations of work completed on-site, ensuring accurate assessment of progress and completion. Prepare and submit payment applications, ensuring timely receipt of funds from clients. Ensure that all payment procedures are carried out in line with contractual requirements and agreed schedules. Risk and Value Management: Identify, assess, and manage potential risks and opportunities associated with the project. Implement value engineering strategies to maximize cost savings without compromising on quality. Support the project management team in identifying ways to reduce costs or improve efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Compliance and Reporting Ensure that all financial and contractual activities comply with UK construction regulations and industry standards. Prepare financial reports for clients, including cash flow forecasts and final accounts. Work with the project team to ensure that all changes in scope or variations are documented and accounted for financially. Key Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline. Membership or working towards membership of a recognized professional body (e.g., RICS – Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). Proficiency with contract management frameworks (e.g., NEC3, NEC4) is essential. Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in gas or energy transmission projects. Proven track record in managing NEC contracts (or similar). Proven track record in EPC works Experience in cost control, procurement, and contract administration in the construction or gas transmission sector. Skills: Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of contract law. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., COINS, CATO, or similar tools). Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and opportunities. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle disputes and claims efficiently
