DRVN Automotive Group has developed skills in project and supply chain management with quality systems and processes to deliver complex solutions to the highest standards and is driven by an innovative spirit, renowned for applying state-of-the-art technologies to the automotive, defence, aerospace, rail and marine sectors.ResponsibilitiesCompany Policies: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company.Lead the full design and development of CAD, administration activity; BOM (Bill of Materials), DVP (Design Verification Plan), Family Tree and Release activity in-line with the companies NPI process and customer specific process.Lead the team through idea generation and problem resolution through day-to-day working and structured Design Reviews. Guide engineers implementing GD&T into designsWork closely with the Engineering Analysis team (FEA) to meet design targets and drive the most cost-effective solutions.Work closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process. Ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) philosophy is integrated into designsCommunicate with the Head of Engineering to ensure you have the required level of support and help when required.Support Programme team to ensure project deliverables are achievedCommunicate design solutions to internal stake holders and external customersMaintain communication with internal and external customers on a regular basisLead the sign off process relative to your commodity in line with NPI guidelinesParticipate in formal and on the job training which will be provided regards the use of software and design techniques.Support and mentor the engineers within your team with your experience and knowledge.Essential SkillsEngineering degree or equivalent within a relevant subjectExperience and Knowledge within BIW StructuresStrong ability to use CAD and understand CAE Literacy using Catia V5High level of Engineering design knowledgeGD&T, can demonstrate good understandingAbility and awareness of design to manufacturing processUnderstanding importance of managing engineering change requests and claim managementAbility to work efficiently within your roleUnderstanding of budget managementStrong communication skillsExcels in organisational skills and time managementA drive to learn and improve at every opportunityWillingness to support othersPositive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.Desirable SkillsExperience preparing and managing a budgetExperience of leading a team of engineersPlease note we do not provide sponsorships to those who require it and will only accept applications from those who have full rights to work in the UK with no restrictions and IDLR/Full Settlement status.
