Job Requirements / Description
Wine Bar General Manager - Clapham - Up To £50k - Brilliant Hours
What a lovely opportunity this will be for someone - local neighbourhood wine bar that is loved by the local clientele & is a hub for the local community. Brilliant owners that are super down to earth that are going to give you the space to spread your wings & run the site as if it were your own. A small, cosy, straight forward to run operation with a small but dedicated team - I really get the sense this is going to suit someone who wants to escape the rat race of their current job & take on a role where they can strip away all the complexities & just enjoy building relationships with some lovely local clientele that genuinely love being in the site, sharing a bottle of wine with their partner or friends. Its relaxed, laid back & super friendly - everything you would want from a local wine bar. There is a really straight forward food offer consisting of sharing platters of cheese & cooked/cured meats & a selection of almost 400 wines to choose from.
Obviously, you will need to be able to demonstrate a knowledge & an understanding of wines underpinned by a WSET qualification of minimum level 3 or a CV that shows you have gained that knowledge in previous roles.
The hours are brilliant - no early starts or late finishes but only apply for this role if you are happy to be hands on - this is very much only going to suit someone who loves being front & centre.
This is a Wine Bar Manager role that isn't going to be for everyone. It's aimed at a Wine Bar Manager who is growing tired of thankless corporate contingency and all of the daily tick box exercises and the paperwork that goes with it - or a Wine Bar Manager who think their only two options are to either get a job managing a large team & push for a regional role within 6 - 12 months or set up on their own. It's for a Wine Bar Manager who know that there is a lot more to running a restaurant or bar business than just running shifts. It's for those who want the term "my guests" to actually mean something. Perhaps most importantly it's for Managers in companies who don't want to lose the fire in their belly simply because their current company has got nothing else to offer them.
If this sounds like you - send your CV over & we'll have a look a it for you.
