Salary: £34,513 - £51,179 per annum (Main Pay Scale Outer London, dependent on experience and qualifications) Start Date: As soon as possible

a vibrant primary school in Feltham, serving children aged 3 to 11 with complex learning needs, including severe and profound learning difficulties and autism. With 198 pupils across two sites, The school are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that empowers every child to thrive through individualised communication strategies
Our school places a strong emphasis on supporting pupils with language and communication needs through a Total Communication approach, providing access to a variety of communication methods, including:
Touch and sensory cues Intensive Interaction techniques Makaton signs and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) Symbols and switches Voice output communication aids (VOCAs) Verbal communication
About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teacher to join our team. In this role, you’ll create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment, working alongside teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, tailored lessons for pupils with severe or profound learning difficulties. Support the communication, social, and emotional development of each pupil. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists, to implement our Total Communication approach. Utilize various communication systems, including Makaton, PECS, and VOCAs, to enhance learning. Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment where each pupil feels valued. Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting activities as needed to meet each child’s needs.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to SEND education and an understanding of complex communication needs. We’re looking for someone who has:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience with children who have severe or profound learning difficulties (preferred but not essential) Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, and other communication systems (training available) A patient, compassionate, and positive teaching approach Excellent communication and teamwork skills
