WHAT YOU'LL DO

Please note this is a 15-18 month fixed term contract

You will report to the Regional HR Director in London Canary Wharf (LCW) and provide HR Advice for approximately 700 employees across London, Amsterdam, and Brussels (LAB). You will be part of the HR Delivery team of seven HR professionals in LCW, assigned to the LAB System, and part of a broader HR Advisory team supporting over 5.500 global business and function employees globally.

You will provide HR Advisory to global teams consisting of teams with functional expertise supporting BCG's leadership functions. Providing HR support for global teams means playing a pivotal role in supporting a diverse and dynamic group of people. You will navigate the complexities of international HR management, demonstrating flexibility and comfort in working with global teams.

In this HR Manager role, you will be responsible for providing advice on HR matters, requiring extensive collaboration with HR Business Partners, HR Talent Partners, and Global Centers of Excellence. Your work will be highly visible to leadership, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders. You will manage sensitive and senior employee relations issues, ensuring effective resolution and maintaining a positive work environment.

By utilizing analytics, project management and communication skills you will work on a variety of projects to enhance the employee experience for employees in the LCW office and translate business strategy into various HR solutions to increase overall organizational capabilities, organizational culture and operational efficiencies.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • HR Advisory: Providing advice to leadership, people managers, and employees on people-related topics, including career planning, performance management, people manager coaching, legal risk mitigation/compliance, employee relations, learning and development, and compensation for some business units.
  • Employee Relations: Serving as the primary point of contact for complex employee relations in LAB, offering expert guidance and resolution strategies. Taking end-to-end ownership of complex employee relations issues, resolving workplace conflicts, managing grievances, communicating effectively, and fostering a positive culture and engagement.
  • Implementing Business Models and Change Needs: Supporting business models by leveraging HR approaches, policies, and procedures, and translating them into actionable initiatives. You are also expert at implementing regional initiatives and global HR guidelines into practical realities for global teams in LAB
  • Communication: Working collaboratively across different cultures and regions, applying excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders. Demonstrating flexibility and comfort in working with global teams.
  • Teaming and Apprenticeship: Collaborating extensively with HR Business Partners, HR Regional Partners, and CoEs. Mentoring and training junior HR team colleagues to aid in their development and sharing your expertise.
  • Compliance with Employment Laws and Regulations: Ensuring the organization follows all applicable employment laws and regulations, staying up to date with legal changes, and integrating these changes into HR practices and policies.
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Organisation Development or other related field is required; advanced degree and CIPD qualification
  • Minimum of 7 years of HR/People Advisory consulting experience, or relevant experience in professional services environment
  • Deep understanding of local geography and legal requirements in the UK, ideally experiences in Netherlands and Belgium
  • Depth of experience in HR practices, especially in employee relations management and performance and talent management
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different cultures and regions
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholder
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to juggle many often-competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented, and matrix-structured environment and to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, and trust/credibility with the demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proven ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Detail oriented, organized with advanced project and process management skills
  • Strong teaming, collaboration, and relationship skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in excel, PowerPoint, and other digital products such as Workday
