Sessional Lecturers in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)15 hours per week, Fixed term until 31 August 2025 in the first instance – Term Time Only£28.78 per hour including holiday payWe are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Sessional Lecturer to teach across both our 16-18 and Adult ESOL provision and are offering approximately two positions with an average of 15 hours each.You will have a proven track record for outstanding delivery in teaching, learning and assessment within ESOL and preferably experience of working with adult learners in particular. You will also be delivering a small range of additional courses to ESOL learners (e.g. Employability Skills, Living & Working in the UK, Citizenship, Basic Digital Skills) to supplement their main ESOL course so a good base knowledge of these would be useful.You will have demonstrable experience in high quality student support, curriculum development and blended learning delivery. You must demonstrate a good understanding of adult learning context and the motivations and barriers facing students.The successful candidate will be working with a small team of experienced professional and will be responsible for course leadership and internal quality assurance so familiarisation with the awarding body’s course outline and assessment guidelines (City & Guilds) is essential. The position could include some evening classes, depending upon demand.Working with our ESOL learners is highly rewarding and there is a great sense of teamwork within the department, as well as the wider Area team.How to applyTo view the full Job Description and Person Specification for the role and to apply please click the 'Apply' button.Closing date: Thursday 24 October 2024 at Midnight      As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service. Please note: From 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we have been instructed that we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. Therefore, a new one must be completed with City College Norwich.
