The VacancyAt Southwark College, part of NCG, you will join a dynamic Senior team led by the College's Principal, which includes the Vice Principal of Curriculum and Student Experience, Assistant Principal of Curriculum (16-18 Lead), Assistant Principal of Skills and Adult Education, and Professional Service Leads. The Assistant Principal, Student Experience will be motivated by student success, have an advanced understanding of safeguarding and supporting students with Special Education Needs and be an impactful team player. The post offers the opportunity to develop high-level leadership skills and the ability to work cross-group on key projects and priorities aligned to the role and responsibilities. With this motivation, the Assistant Principal will be able to deliver NCG's strategic objectives and mission, demonstrating a commitment to the vision. The Principal is open to applications from ambitious middle managers leaders looking for their next step or applications from more experienced leaders who would like to broaden their experience. As part of this exciting Assistant Principal role, you will: Be Designated Safeguarding Lead and manage the Safeguarding Team Line manage the Student Experience Manager (Safeguarding) and the Student Experience Manager (Tutorials) Line manage the Supported Learning Head of Faculty, and you will have responsibility for all EHCP learners within the college and be responsible for leading the team responsible for the accurate claim of all Element 2 and 3 funding claims. You will need to effectively manage additional learning support costs in line with funding regulations including Element 2 & 3 funding agreements. Line manage the Student Experience Team including the Student Union team. Lead the college strategy for inclusion, mental health and wellbeing, including the production of materials for tutorials on Safeguarding, Student Wellbeing, Mental Health Awareness and Prevent. To manage the college counsellors who are contracted through SE Mind, to make sure that the counselling availability is proportionate to student need and manage the Service Level Agreement SLA with SE Mind. To be the Mental Health Lead for the College, to be responsible for all student welfare and mindfulness support, including the commissioning of activities to support student wellbeing. Lead the colleges mental health/wellbeing strategy including allocation of mental health first aiders. To lead on the support for Care Experienced Students to ensure that these students achieve the same level of qualification success as their peers. Lead high standards of careers education, information, advice and guidance Be a great organiser, events planner and have high level communication skills including an eye for detail, this includes working with our Student Union to facilitate student events.
