The AUGUST, a new music restaurant is seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu review, food preparation, staff management, and ensuring that our culinary standards are met. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, have a strong leadership presence, and possess excellent organisational skills. Key Responsibilities: Menu review and development: Review, create and maintain innovative and high-quality menus that reflect the restaurants concept and cater to our customers' preferences. Food Preparation: Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality, taste, and consistency meet the restaurant's standards. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain cost-effective operations while minimising waste. Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring all team members adhere to hygiene and safety standards. Compliance: Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety, storage, and cleanliness. Budget Management: Work with management to develop and adhere to the kitchen budget, controlling food costs and maximising profitability. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen, food storage areas, and equipment to ensure everything is clean, well-maintained, and functioning properly. Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with the front-of-house team to respond to customer feedback and ensure a consistently excellent dining experience. Special Events: Plan and execute special events, seasonal menus, and promotions as needed. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant. In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Creative and passionate about food, with a strong understanding of culinary trends. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Working Conditions: This position requires standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
