Position Summary:


The VP of Business Development is responsible for increasing Unical’s presence and company revenues with a focus on the assigned region. This position will introduce new sales programs and business opportunities in existing and new markets. They will keep current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. They are responsible for managing and developing strategic relationships with customers in the aviation industry while also maintaining and finding a strong pipeline of products to ensure sales goals are achieved.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish strategic relationships with airlines, leasing companies, MROs as well as new and existing customers.
  • Represent Unical at customer meetings, industry conferences, and marketing events across multiple regions.
  • Identify market trends and offer strategies that capture the business.
  • Promote and effectively communicate Unical’s values and success in resolving challenges that negatively affect customers.
  • Provide pre-trip agendas with post trip reports that outline actions to be taken.
  • Communicate customer opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through customer interaction to the appropriate Unical personnel.
  • Recommend marketable services and products tailored to our customers’ needs for the assigned region.
  • Collaborate with all Unical product line and sales teams to ensure that the value of Unical services/products is communicated to potential customers.
  • Actively manage project scope, schedule, and budget. Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations as needed.
  • Other duties and programs as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive account management experience, including as an Account Manager.
  • 10 years of experience in the aviation industry in a sales/customer facing role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote).
  • 50%+ travel may be required.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with accuracy.
  • Ability to demonstrate logical reasoning, decision making, and attention to detail.
  • Proven critical thinking skills within a diverse workforce and team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of other departments or team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.


Travel:

  • Will be required to travel both nationally and internationally as needed to support the regional sales goals; could travel up to 50% of the time.


Language:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.


Physical Demands:

  • Work Environment: Office setting but with some traveling required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on occasions.
  • Carrying, Walking, Pushing, Climbing, Reaching.


Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in an administrative office setting.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
