Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Thames Water Employment Type: Permanent Location: Thames Water Region Contact: Aaron Taylor @ Randstad Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within a new joint venture in the water industry? Our client, a collaboration between two leading contractors, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take the lead on key water infrastructure projects within the Thames Water region. Responsibilities: Lead mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects, from concept through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into larger project plans. Develop, review, and approve mechanical designs, technical specifications, and drawings. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety regulations. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to resolve mechanical challenges during all project phases. Ensure projects meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Prepare detailed reports, project documentation, and technical submissions. Manage and mentor junior engineers and support staff within the team.Requirements: Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally within the water sector or similar infrastructure industries. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and relevant industry standards. Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, enabling effective collaboration across different teams and client interaction. Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering) and professional certifications.
