Main responsibilities:

Take overall responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management of all aspects of the business accounts arrangements to maximise the company s performance and profitability including protecting the companies legal and contractual obligations and to manage proactively a team to control all topics relating to the business accounts. This is to include ensuring that the business requirements are adhered to at all times.

Duties:

  • Maintain overall control of book keeping and accounting system on a day to day basis with the assistance of the accounts team.
  • Advise and once agreed implement improvements to be made to the business accounting system
  • Supervise all accounts team for the successful performance of the business
  • Prepare monthly and annual accounts incorporating:
    • Analysed and dated debtorsAnalysed and dated creditors
    • Summary of Monthly VAT return
    • Summary of CIS Return
    • Summary of Work in Progress
    • Monthly Profit & Loss Account
    • Detailed Balance Sheet
    • Reconciliation of Associated company loan accounts
    • Payment of Salaries and PAYE
    • Control CIS and PAYE payments and supervise monthly returns
    • Supervise Payment Run Schedules
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Maintain rolling overall short-term cash flow forecast over 6 months forward period
  • Supervise reconciliation of Invoice discounting facility
  • Supervise/prepare sales invoices and be responsible for credit control
  • Ensure that there are adequate systems of Internal Controls for approval of Purchase invoices, sales invoices, monies received and paid, and expenses
  • Produce monthly accounting information for the business as required

Must have:

  • Construction expereince
  • Previously worked within a similar role within the industry.
