Claims Adjuster

To handle inwards claims in accordance with individual authority. Provide support to Claims Managers and Head of Claims in managing and reviewing claim files, creating and maintaining claims records, and providing management information. Undertake a structured training program aimed at developing claims handling skills. Duties Entry and maintenance of the Claims Management System (CMS) Organizing and running reports from the CMS Managing claim files, including retrieving brokers' claim files, document management, scanning, and document retention Agreeing and settling claim bordereaux Agreeing and arranging for settlement of valid covered claims upon selected accounts, subject to terms of individual authority Analysing and reviewing individual claims on programs where managed syndicate leads and follows as required, subject to terms of individual authority Preparing various management reports for internal and external purposes as required

Competence Profile: Able to maintain ongoing relationships with brokers, third-party experts, and colleagues Operate at all times to the standards and rules of applicable regulatory bodies and internal guidelines Input data and maintain records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ensure competence is attained and maintained

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications: Professional Indemnity (PI) UK Business Knowledge of underwriting and reinsurance appropriate to the role Developing an understanding of the insurance market, industry, and stakeholders Knowledge of the main issues affecting the insurance market Familiarity with the standards and rules of regulatory bodies and internal procedures Understanding of the types of business transacted by the syndicate IT skills (Word, Excel, and other software packages used within the business) Strong relationship skills Developing negotiation skills Developing decision-making skills Developing financial awareness Strong numeracy Analytical skills Excellent communication skills
