Technical Inspector

Job title: Technical Inspector Location: London area (All within the M25) Overview: Reporting to the Head of Special Projects and working with a Team of Technical Inspectors responsible for the diagnosis and management of latent defects and the overall coordination of ‘Special Projects’ works to remedy complex and multi-faceted defects and fire safety improvements. Investigating potential latent defects, mitigating any health & safety issues and collating the evidence to determine liability for the defect. You will oversee the remediation of latent defects with a focus on quality, H&S, and the customer in all aspects of the work. Working collaboratively with key external stakeholders and partners, including consultants, solicitors, contractors and insurers (NHBC), as well as internal commercial, technical and project management teams, to deliver effective solutions with residents at the heart of decision making. Key Responsibilities: * To liaise with colleagues across the business when they have identified a potential latent defect claim in accordance with the Defect Policy and Procedure. * To liaise with Consultants and Specialist Contractors in determining the cause and liability for latent defects in order to reach a quick resolution with minimal exposure to costs. * To provide the Quality Manager with regular progress updates on individual latent defects claims and advise on issues that are preventing satisfactory resolution. * To work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure relevant information and advice is provided so that they are able to keep customers informed on progress where latent defects affect their homes. * To proactively contribute to personal awareness of industry development and standards to ensure up to date knowledge within the areas of own responsibility. * Ensure that all projects and tasks are delivered in accordance with the Trusts values and highest level of customer service at all times. * At all times carry out all duties with due regard to Health & Safety Legislation and policy.
