We supply valuation and financial modelling services to clients across the whole umbrella of Advisory services. We have a market-leading team of infrastructure and energy specialists, who work with some of the world’s largest asset and fund managers. We are recognised as a leading financial adviser in global infrastructure transactions and have extensive experience across all facets of infrastructure projects.We are looking for a modelling Manager to join us. We build, review and update models across all infrastructure and energy transition sectors, to support our clients with their valuation reporting, fund raising and ongoing asset management. Most of our work is executed in Microsoft Excel, with some limited use of other programming. Our priority is delivering tools that are easy to understand, as well as flexible and robust in the face of change. We work as part of the firm's wider modelling community, sharing knowledge and best practice with other modelling experts.We’re happy to talk flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, we’ll support you to balance your work and life. A look into the role As a Manager within our team, you will: Develop financial models and other tools for clients to use for forecasting, reporting and business planningPlay an active role in model design discussions and prepare model specification documentsUpdate and run financial models and perform valuation bridge analysis to provide insight that can be used in valuation and investor reportsUse and adapt models to perform sensitivity and scenario analysisReview the modelling work of junior team members, ensuring technical excellence and brand compliance, and giving appropriate guidance and feedbackUnderstand the results of models and engage with clients and colleagues in meaningful dialogue about the implicationsReview financial models built by clients and their advisers and compile initial views and findingsCoach and share technical knowledge with colleaguesPrepare engagement letters for review by more senior team members, and carry out other client engagement administrationAttend meetings with clients, build rapport and develop lasting relationships based on trust and quality workContribute to proposals for new work and attend pitch meetings with clientsTake an active role in supporting the growth of the team by pro-actively building your own network of internal and external contactsTake responsibility for your career and personal development, supported by your people manager, the Valuations & Modelling team, and the broader firmManage your time and deliver work in line with agreed budgets and timetables, including managing conflicting workloads and deadlines when necessarySupport the team with ad hoc administrative duties, such as arranging meetings and eventsKnowing you’re right for us Joining us as a Manager with an infrastructure and energy focus, the minimum criteria you’ll need is to have:Experience in a directly comparable Big 4 or similar boutique modelling or valuations teamCurrently holding a manager or equivalent gradeExperience of working with infrastructure funds or assetsInterest in the infrastructure and energy transition sector and keeping up with industry developmentsExcellent Excel proficiency and familiarity with advanced techniquesStrong understanding of modelling best practice ideasPrior experience of working with complex financial models or transactional workHighly numerate with strong communication skills, and able to explain complex and technical matters to others in plain languageStrong accounting skills and understanding of discounted cash flow calculationsAbility to work in an efficient, organised manner to meet regular reporting deadlinesACA or CA qualified or equivalentIt would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.  Logical approach to problem-solving, attention to detailFocus on self-development as well as having the desire to coach, mentor and develop your colleaguesCommercially focused with the ability to deliver innovative solutionsDesire to deliver excellent customer serviceAny proficiency or experience with VBA programming or PowerBIEducated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerate degreeKnowing we’re right for youThe culture at Grant Thornton is what sets us apart, we’re known for our inclusive culture and creating environments where all our people can flourish.
