Job Role Head Chef Location; The Hunters, Preston, PR5 5UL SALARY; Basic £39,592, Bonus up to £19,796, Tips share up to £2,000 An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are looking for an ambitious Head Chef who is passionate about food. Train, motivate, and encourage the team to excel. Maintain an efficient operation, supervise the kitchen, and follow Health & Safety Legislation. You will coordinate food ordering, stock control, food preparation, and the delivery of all kitchen operations. You will work closely with the Group Executive Chef to ensure all standards are met and maintained. Key Responsibilities: Lead the kitchen team in all aspects of service, from prep to plating, ensuring outstanding food quality and presentation. Coordinate daily operations including ordering, inventory management, and maintaining high hygiene standards. Guide, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to unlock their capabilities, nurturing a positive work environment. Drive cost control measures without compromising quality, managing budgets and food costs effectively Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations, setting the standard for food safety in the kitchen Key Qualities and Skills: Effective Leadership: A confident leader who can motivate and manage a diverse team with clear direction and vision. You lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and collaboration. Communication Skills: Able to articulate expectations, provide constructive feedback, and maintain an open line of communication with the entire team Business Insight: A solid grasp of cost control, portion management, and the ability to effectively run a profitable kitchen.
