About the opportunity:
A financial services client is looking to bring on a FS Reg lawyer on an interim basis for 6 months. This role will support the clients legal team in relation to the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) implementation and is looking for someone to provide advice, propose solutions and / or provide validation of the structure, approach and key deliverables, leveraging their knowledge of what other credit rating agencies and / or financial services firms are doing. This would include delivering on relevant documentation such as framework, policies and procedures, security testing etc.
The DORA regulations are an EU cyber security initiative which is looking to safeguard financial institutions (and their third-party vendors) from malicious attacks. It is critical that the client show that they are making headway with the process by January. As such, they have expressed the need to bring on a resource that has FS Reg implementation experience/EU Reg implementation experience.
Ideally the client would like candidates from an
advisory
background over a pure transactional background for this project. The client equally would like candidates with outsourcing experience – given that DORA impacts outsourcing agreements. To this end experience with EU outsourcing regs (i.e. outsourcing resilience) would be highly beneficial.
This would suit a candidate that is an England & Wales admitted Solicitor that has a background in FS Reg experience and is direct exposure with regulatory implementation (looking at EU regs, interpreting what these mean and advising accordingly on suitable course of action).
Advantageous to have DORA experience as candidates could hit the ground running, but the best thing would be to have experience dealing with outsourcing operational resilience at EU level.
