You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.Key responsibilitiesCreating, managing and delivering internal audit reviews and regulatory assurance reviews within the Financial Services sector and making value-add recommendations to senior managementSupporting Senior Management to develop and deliver the annual internal audit planLeading relationships with key internal stakeholders.Representing BDO at client meetings and attending senior management committee meetingsInvolvement in key activities, which may include recruitment, budgeting, resource allocation, quality assurance etc.Being aware of possible business opportunities for the teamAssisting with realising the Internal Audit opportunities through marketing, recruitment and training, and development of methodologiesAssisting in the development of our internal audit service offerings and the training of staffDelivering assignments in the required timeframe as agreed with the clientMaximising utilisation by working effectively and efficiently and ensuring the team is working efficiently tooEnsuring projects are well managed and commercially viable by budgeting effectively and billing clients promptlyBeing alive to possible business opportunities for the team and bring to the attention of the Senior Manager and relevant PartnerAttending networking events and conferences to ensure knowledge and skills remain up-to-date and to promote BDO’s services where appropriateYou’ll be someone with:Extensive internal audit or regulatory assurance experience working within or with Financial Services experienceKnowledge of the Financial Services sector and the UK regulatory environmentHave undertaken a range of internal audit or advisory assignments and have an understanding of internal audit methodology and techniquesRecognised accountancy or internal audit professional qualifications and/or memberships i.e. ICAEW, CIMA, CIIA, ACCA etc. Preferred but not essential if the candidate has alternative relevant qualification.Strong written / communication skills, ability to influence, lead, engage, and manage stakeholdersAbility to lead complex reviews and be a team playerYou’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business.
