Become an internal verifier for the CIH Housing Academy Our training courses and qualifications are supported by housing professionals with experience and in-depth knowledge of the housing topics that our learners need to understand. We deliver a range of housing qualifications, levels 2, 3, 4 and 5, and tutors play an integral role in supporting learners to achieve their qualification. Internal verifiers play an integral role in ensuring the standardisation and consistency of its qualifications. The role involves following the processes and procedures set out in the IV Sampling Procedures document and other Housing Academy (HA) Policies and Procedures. Please note: this role is on a contractor basis CIH Housing Academy delivers a range of housing qualifications, online and through blended learning, at Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5, and internal verifiers play an integral role in ensuring the standardisation and consistency of its qualifications. About the role The role involves following the processes and procedures set out in the internal verification sampling procedures document and other Housing Academy (HA) policies and procedures. This includes: Attending two internal verification meetings per year and tutor meetings (Approx 3 per year) Preparing and contributing to level specific standardisation sessions as required Supporting other level specific standardisation sessions as required Contributing to wider internal quality assurance processes including providing feedback on assessments and unit specifications, contributing to periodic course reviews and supporting tutors Sampling at least 20% of assessed work by the end of the course for that particular cohort Using the Sampling Record to identify sample at the start of the cohort and updating during each round of internal verification Providing and processing written feedback in the format required How to apply If you are interested in working with us please send the following information to the quality and delivery manager at . Statement of experience Your statement should include evidence of: Recent internal verification or external examining experience in a learning environment such as an independent provider, further or higher education setting Continuing professional development in teaching, learning and assessment, and the housing sector Working with a team of assessors. Successful applicants are expected to: be CIH members at or after appointment take out professional indemnity insurance Criteria Experience Essential Experience of working in the housing sector to a management level Recent internal verification or external examining experience in a learning environment such as an independent provider, further or higher education setting Working with a team of assessors Desirable Working in the housing and related built environment sector Experience of delivering CIH Awarding Organisation qualifications Using a variety of assessment methods Education and professional development Essential A degree equivalent level qualification in a cognate area and/or a relevant professional qualification A regulated or equivalent internal verification qualification Evidence of continuing professional development in teaching, learning and assessment, and the housing sector Desirable Working towards a regulated or equivalent internal verification qualification Qualification Requirements - Guidance for CIH Housing Academy Contractors identifies preferred qualifications. If working towards a qualification this must be completed within 12 months of starting with CIH. Required skills, knowledge and characteristics Essential Strong communication skills using a variety of mediums - written and verbal - with an attention to detail. Ability to manage own workload and set clear boundaries. Ability to work with, motivate and support assessors Providing feedback to assessors in a constructive and developmental manner that facilitates good practice Confidence in using IT and working with different software applications Knowledge of the housing sector and contemporary issues facing housing practitioners Being professional at all times Desirable Experience of virtual learning platforms Moodle is preferred. Knowledge of the CIH Awarding Organisation's housing curriculum and contexts in which housing organisations work.
