Head of Sales & Retail Operations

My client are a well-established family business based in Fife that have been growing at a fast pace over the last several years and have forecast continued growth within their sector.They are a very successful food retailer with over 60 locations in central Scotland and a focus on the freshness and quality of their products. The team are obsessive about the quality of their products and the customer experience. They have a long-term focus and invest heavily in people, processes and places designed to future-proof the business for generations to come. The Head of Sales & Retail Operations is a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the Managing Director with accountability and responsibility for their retail operation and sales. They are a £50m turnover business with ambitions to double this within the next 8 years. This role sets the strategy, executes the plan and engages and leads the team to deliver year-on-year growth. Everything retail is the responsibility of this role including identification and refit of new sites, service levels and standards and budgeting. There are a team of 6 Area Managers and an overall team of over 500. The key priorities of the role are : Developing and delivering the retail strategy with a focus on building the culture and living their values. Driving the sales turnover through new shop openings, sales and marketing activities Achieving the highest possible standards across the retail operations with particular focus on the customer journey and experience.Collaborate with the Managing Director and facilities team on new shop openings, expanding geographically across the Scotland. In addition, as a member of the Senior Leadership team of the business, you would work collaboratively to deliver the overall business strategy, bringing another level of challenge and opportunity. The Head of Sales & Retail Operations will be a key driver of our retail growth and we would welcome applications from candidates who : Are experienced senior sales leaders within multi-site retail operations. Have an expert level knowledge of retail management that would include marketing, training, operational improvement and growth.Are a sophisticated leader with high levels of emotional intelligence whose leadership style embraces empowering, engaging and delegating to build the high performing team.Have executive/board level decision-making experienceThis role would be split between spending time at the main manufacturing site in Fife and the remaining days in the retail operations across the country, engaging actively with the retail teams and scouting new locations with the facilities team.This is a truly exciting business, that is growing into one of Scotland’s biggest retailers.
