Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend most of their time (~80%) working on site at AWE Aldermaston. Package: £37,860 - £56,800 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Closing Date: 29th October 2024 Let us introduce the role AWE is currently recruiting for a Firmware Engineer for the Non-Nuclear Components Group. This role is ideally suited to an Electronics Engineer with experience of FPGA design and verification, capable of defining firmware requirements and architecting firmware systems. In growing our capability in this area, we will also be looking to grow your skills and knowledge as an Engineer with opportunities for development and progression across our programmes of work. Responsibilities will include: Contribute to the production and delivery of technical reports and presentations Design and/or verification in either VHDL, SV and/or UVM Contribute to the delivery of the system from concept to realisation Support the progress of designs through product life cycle Understand the hazards and associated risks of any work conducted Maintaining and promote high standards in ESH (Environmental, safety & health), security and quality Who are we looking for? Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following: Integration of FPGA / SoC systems TCL scripting and SoC Implementation and Verification of designs in VHDL, OSVVM or System Verilog and UVM Knowledge of DO-254, IEC 61508 or similar standards You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload.
