School Caretaker Location: Brampton, Cambridge Hours: 25 – 30 hours per week Hourly Rate: £12.18 Duration: Permanent Why did the school caretaker bring a broom to the interview? Duties and Responsibilities: * Ensure the security of the school building, grounds and equipment. This includes routine repairs, inspections and maintenance within the scope of a handyman. * Oversee the work of the assistant caretaker and coordinate daily maintenance tasks * Ensure an adequate supply of cleaning and hygiene products, placing orders when stocks are low. * Set up and clear away furniture and equipment for school events, including before and after-school activities. * Ensure bins are emptied, and rubbish is disposed of regularly​ * Key holder duties maintaining and managing the key register and providing access to authorized personnel as needed What we are looking for: * Previous experience and proficiency in labouring and DIY * Able to identify maintenance issues and finding effective solutions * Understand the importance of Health and Safety, maintenance and servicing * Show willingness to working in a team and flexibility around arrangements * Previous experience working in a school and/ or maintenance role * Previous experience as a school caretaker will be advantageous So, are you ready to become a hero the school needs?
