The role:
The Control and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for the safe operation of the Instrumentation, Control and Electrical equipment on site.

The core of the role will involve measuring and controlling instrumentation. The Instrumentation Technician will be heavily involved in servicing and calibrating plant equipment and process control systems. The sort of instruments will include; pressure, flow, gas analyzers, sensors, signal conditioners, final control elements, etc.

The key responsibilities for the Control and Instrumentation Technician will involve:
  • Maintaining documentation for instrumentation calibrations
  • Responsible for Maintenance, Analysis and Incident Reports
  • Calibrating instruments and systems
  • Reading P&ID drawings
  • Installing and terminating Instrument and electrical connections
  • Installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital
  • Performing scheduled maintenance programs.
  • Inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
The successful candidate for the Control and Instrumentation Technician will have the following background:
  • Experience working as an Control and Instrumentation Technician or Instrument Engineer, with basic Electrical experience
  • Must have had experience with maintenance, fault finding and carrying out repairs within the field of instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing defective instruments.
  • Able to read P&ID drawings.
  • You would have worked in a Chemical, Manufacturing or Oil & Gas industry, ideally with experience working on a COMAH site.
