Head of Bids - Nuclear

Astute's Nuclear team is exclusively partnering with a global leader in nuclear energy, to recruit a Head of Bids for its Southwest and Central locations. This critical Head of Bids role plays a pivotal part in driving the success of the company's business development by delivering high-quality, winning proposals that support long-term growth and strengthen client relationships. The role comes with a salary up to £80,000, car allowance, bonus and hybrid working. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, you will: Provide oversight and management of the entire tendering and bids process from start to finish. Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and value in bid and proposal delivery. Project manage bid responses in collaboration with UK and international stakeholders. Manage proposal review meetings and ensure alignment with company risk and governance policies. Liaise with customers to handle bid clarifications and technical queries. Work alongside finance, legal, and operations to develop commercial proposals that meet company and market requirements. Support the development of sales and account strategies and contribute to the business's commercial growth. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Familiarity with the full lifecycle of engineering projects-design, manufacturing, operations. Experience in managing bid and proposal teams and leading the development of winning bids. A solid understanding of contract forms such as FIDIC and NEC3/4, and the ability to apply commercial risk effectively. Proven project management experience, especially in infrastructure or energy sectors.
