Manual Machinist | Poole | £18.50ph (depending on experience) Overview Are you a skilled and experienced manual machinist looking for your next challenge? Rubicon People Partnership’s client are currently recruiting for a talented individual to join their team within the fitting/assembly department. As a manual machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, precision-engineered components, often for the aerospace, defence, or similar industries. Benefits As a manual machinist, you will receive: A 4-day week 25 days holiday + bank holidays Death in Service scheme Overtime at @ X1.5 Training and development opportunities A Permanent contract from day 1 Responsibilities As a manual machinist, your responsibilities will include: Operating manual lathes and mills. Inspecting work using bore comparators, bore mics, verniers, callipers, and air gauges to ensure accuracy within tight tolerances. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Performing pressure testing of assembled components to ensure integrity and performance. Using fitting tools such as presses and hand tools for assembly task. Skills and Experience The successful candidate for this manual machinist role MUST have: Extensive experience with manual lathes and mills, ideally including XYZ machines. Experience working with various material grades and selecting appropriate tools for each. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow planning requirements. Experience with pressure testing is a plus, though training will be provided.
