Role: Management Accountant
Location: Brockworth (Hybrid working)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Hours: Mon - Fri, 9am - 5:30pm
The task at hand:
The Management Accountant focuses on our IT Managed Services business. You'll have responsibility for the production of management accounts and providing detailed commentary to aid the understanding of the numbers and variation to expectation.
As a Management Accountant you will work with various departments to ensure there is a full understanding of the numbers and how they translate to the expectation of the business and against budget and forecast.
The role will need to look at where there is any potential leakage or improvements that can be made to drive improved financial results/reporting and forecasting.
Key responsibilities
Completion of Month End Reporting by carrying out appropriate accounting adjustments, analysis and understanding of the figures in accordance with agreed deadlines and accounting standards.
Completing Management Information Packs with detailed analysis and commentary to explain variances.
Ensuring the information processed in the accounts is accurate and advise the Ledger Manager of any problems.
Provide reports and conduct meetings with Senior Finance Manager and Financial Controller.
Identify and drive improvements in Revenue and Cost savings
Constant review of processes and controls to ensure best practice is achieved and communicated to relevant parties.
Have an understanding of the different departments and how they operate.
Ensure appropriate accounting standards are followed.
Support year end and audit process and the preparation of the annual budget
Support finance requirements for any software review and implementation.
Support integration of acquisitions into the Onecom Group.
Ideal Candidate
Sound accounting knowledge of Accruals, Prepayments, Accrued and Deferred Income.
Ability to manage and priorities tasks
Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
Logical thinking
Accuracy
The ability to deal with incomplete information.
Adaptability and initiative
A self-motivated and pro-active approach
Commitment to further professional and personal development
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of both the Finance department and the organisation.
Have an excellent understanding of business environments
Have strong excel skills
Knowledge of Sage X3, Power BI, Power point (Preferable)
Ability to work on multiple systems
Have sound accounting background – AAT (Required)
