The Role * Responsible for the effective commercial account management of allocated customer accounts, with a focus on Bid and Proposal Management, Contract Management and Customer Relationship Management. * Manage all commercial aspects of bid and proposal preparation including credit-worthiness and foreign currency risk mitigation. * Work closely with the Commercial Manager in new business development by possessing a detailed understanding of customer commercial needs and financial circumstances. * Support negotiations with strategically important customers ensuring the development and design of financially sound and legally compliant contracts. * Manage key relationships both internally and with customers and ensuring compliance and communication of contractual obligations. * Work closely with Engineering and the shipping departments processes, procedures and activities to ensure on-time and right first time deliveries. The Candidate * Commercially astute and of degree calibre you will have extensive contract negotiation and management experience gained ideally in the Aerospace / Defence / IT Services, Construction or related sector. * An understanding of Defence Contracting Regulation would be an advantage but is not essential. * A good working knowledge of global export regulations, procurement procedures and practices. * Strong financial acumen capable of developing complex business models to support bids and proposals. * A competent negotiator able to develop and maintain key relationships with customers and major contractors at all levels. * The capability to manage a successful team with excellent motivation, performance management, development and leadership skills. * A strategic thinker with a high attention to detail able to deal at all levels across a wide spectrum of international cultures
