TrueNorth are pleased to be supporting an established organisation in their search for a Cloud Operations Engineer to join the team.


The role is a growth role in a newly formed cloud operations team, which will support their day to day business as well as be a key part of their ongoing global IT transformation.


The role will involve:

  • Provisioning, Configuring and Maintaining Public Cloud infrastructure resources, including virtual machines, serverless computing, storage, databases, networking, and other cloud services.
  • Develop and maintain automation processes and tools for provisioning and configuring cloud resources to streamline cloud operation tasks.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting to proactively identify and resolve potential performance bottlenecks, outages, and service disruptions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, processes, and operational procedures.


Key skills required:

  • Excellent understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and managing cloud environments - Azure is preferred but AWS and GCP are also acceptable.
  • Experience with infrastructure tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or others.
  • Problem solving and excellent communication across technical and non technical audiences.
  • The ability to work in a team really well - this organisation prides itself on the teams and culture it has created and works hard to protect it.


Beneficial (and if you don't have these you'll be able to pick up while working here..):

  • Any Azure certifications.
  • Scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, Grafana, Elastic
  • VMware, Nimble Storage


They are offering a starting salary of £60k to £68k dependant on experience as well as an impressive and comprehensive benefits package including an excellent pension.


The company are based in Newcastle City Centre and are working to a 2/3 days in the office hybrid working pattern - depending on projects at the time it can be 3/4 days so commutable from Newcastle is essential for this one.
