Sales Director: wholesale distribution, into merchants, tool & equipment hire companies and contractors

Hence, they are looking to recruit an experienced and successful Sales Director, reporting to the MD, to develop and deliver, via an established team, their sales strategy. Suitable candidates should have a successful track record in a similar senior Sales leadership role. Experience in selling to similar customers, including plant and tool hire, builders merchants, construction, civil engineering, utilities, landscaping and groundscare contractors, is beneficial, but we’re also open to individuals with other B2B experience. Specific product or category knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
We’re looking for individuals with an analytical and strategic approach, given the complexity of a large number of categories, SKUs and customers, along with credibility, leadership and gravitas. You’ll also need plenty of energy, drive and dynamism. We’re open to candidates who would be stepping up into a Sales Director role for the first time. Maybe you’re a Head of Sales or National Sales Manager?
Candidates living within commutable distance of their Bolton head office are preferred, although this role will involve national travel, customer meetings, attendance at events, trade shows, conferences, and award ceremonies, along with regular visits to the HQ. Visibility and collaboration with the rest of the senior team and the other functions within the business are important to them.
