We are now looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in Thame, Oxfordshire. Applicants will have demonstrable experience of working in a similar role. Above everything else we care and are proud to be a part of the construction industry. The Role: To oversee and manage the work of the retained Payroll activity. To oversee and provide assurance of the data integrity of financial/non-financial systems which includes supporting the development and management of key interfaces/processes to support data flow across platforms. Use bespoke reports to identify exceptions requiring corrective action. To manage day to day relationship with the key supplier, regarding data processes for all activities managed on the platform. Support day to day relationships with other software vendors regarding key data flows impacting financial systems (including but not limited to: SAFE, HMRC, Connect). As part of the role individuals may from time to time be requested to be flexible & carry out tasks to benefit the wider business. Management reserve the right to change the Job Purpose to meet the changing needs of the business as required and in line with current legislation or regulations governing the work of CarmichaelUK. Notice of one month will be given if role requirements change. At all times, individuals must work in accordance with the requirements of the CarmichaelUK Quality Management System (ISO9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO14001). Responsibilities: * Preparation, review and circulation of periodic reports (Weekly, Monthly, Annually) to provide assurance on the platform data integrity in respect of Sales, Gross Margin and Payroll. * Prepare, review and submit payroll driven statutory payments (including but not limited to: Pension, HMRC, PAYE & CIS) * Oversee the preparation and processing of the weekly PSC and Umbrella payment runs on the platform * Process the Carmichael Engineering & Consulting business consultants payroll * Process staff payroll * Perform all accounts activities relating to the Carmichael Engineering & Consulting business i.e Process receipts, invoice queries, process payments and produce monthly management account pack * Oversee the weekly PAYE payment run by the payroll team * Responsibility for the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual management and financial information in line with requirements of the role * Data manipulation, variance analysis and other analytical methods to provide insightful information and commentary to support strategic management * Measurement and analysis of financial and statistical information through the production of key performance indicators and metrics * Partner with operation and sales management to ensure robust information flows * Process journals into the finance system for both PAYE and PSC pay runs * Post monthly HMRC breakdown journal * Reconciliation of payroll balance sheets * Support development and management of key interfaces/processes to support data flow across platforms * Project work when required * Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams In return you can expect: * A strong performance related package with visibility of career progression * Pension, life assurance, and private health insurance * An inclusive social culture including team lunches and after-work events * Dress down Fridays * Work from home (up to 2 days per week) * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 3 days per year * Regular opportunities for volunteering with our chosen charities As a company, we are aware that our staff should reflect the local communities in which we work.
