Test Engineer

A well established, world leading electronic instrumentation company based near Colchester are looking to recruit an experienced Test Engineer to Test PCB's and electronic assemblies to ensure quality and performance. Duties: Testing and fault-finding PCBs to component level Testing complete assemblies Ensure instructions, documents and test results are kept up to date Ensure products are handled and tested correctly, including storage and anti-static precautions. Implement new processes and generate instructions and documents in accordance with job requirements Add product details to ERP system Provide yield statistics and offer technical recommendations where appropriate. Train other employees on techniques and specific methods making recommendations to the Production Supervisor regarding any training deficiencies. Communicate any testing issues to the Production Supervisor. Some travel may be required What's required: Electronic qualifications with BTEC ONC/HNC or City & Guilds as a minimum Must be able to read circuit diagrams and fault find to component level. Must have experience in an electronic manufacturing environment. Good component recognition skills are essential Experience of using electronic testing equipment, such as bench power supplies, multi meters and oscilloscopes is a must Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills are essential along with computer skills. Knowledge of using PIC programming tools and similar devices is preferable Able to create/edit technical instructions is essential. Soldering experience would be beneficial.
