We're looking for a Construction Manager to join our Severn Trent team based in Solihull, West Midlands.

Location: Solihull, West Midlands with travel to sites in the Severn Trent patch in the midlands  

Contract: Permanent - Full Time


What will you be responsible for?

As a Construction Manager, you'll be working within the Severn Trent CSO programme team, supporting them in delivering high-quality construction projects safely and efficiently. The Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) programme is an important task which focuses on the upgrading of assets to  deal with the increased demand of water systems due to storm water and the increased use of treatment works due to population growth and the subsequent overflow.

What will your day to day look like?

Your day to day will include:

  • Managing on-site safety and operations, including delivering comprehensive inductions, conducting toolbox talks, and facilitating daily task briefings.
  • Optimising operational efficiency by allocating duties, facilitating work activities, and supervising site operatives.
  • Managing resources effectively by organising and requisitioning essential site equipment, machinery, and materials.
  • Collaborating with line managers to establish safe and economically feasible work methods and maintaining daily site activity records.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments, and enforcing the use of appropriate PPE.
  • Overseeing and implementing quality control measures, including Short Interval Control procedures and managing the daily maintenance schedule of all systems.

What are we looking for?

This role of Construction Manager is great for you if:

  • You hold a Level 6 qualification in Construction Site Management or a related field, or a Higher National Certificate/Diploma or degree in Construction Management.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and practical application of a construction site's setup and day-to-day running.
  • You have a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Supervisor - Gold Experienced Supervisor or Manager.
  • You have site-related training such as confined space, fire marshal, first aid, and temporary work supervisor certifications.
