What the role entails
As the Food Safety trainer at HMP Wandsworth, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop essential skills that will serve them throughout their lives and possible employment opportunities upon release. You will be responsible for effectively delivering the Highfield Food safety level 2 qualification and ensuring that all learners successfully complete the multiple choice exam at the end of each day. Therefore, the ability to work to a deadline is essential for this role.

This is an amazing opportunity to work as part of a close knit, supportive management team who are committed to staff wellbeing. This is a permanent part-time role, 2 days. Monday - Tuesday 8 to 5. All work takes place on site within the working hours and there is not a requirement to complete any additional work during the evening or weekends.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day management of learners to achieve their level 2 qualification. Ensure full compliance with health and safety and protocols e.g. GDPR, enrolment and attendance. Accountable for quality assurance and quality improvement across the qualification. Liaise with key prison personnel in relation to pastoral care of learners, as required. Ensure full compliance to prison systems, processes and protocol.What we need from you
To be successful in the role Trainer, you will need:
Service experience. Flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment. Have excellent interpersonal skills. Having the ability to track and monitor leaners progress against course criteria. Have at least 2 years' experience in the relevant vocational area. Willing to gain Award in Education within 6 months. Willing to gain the TAQA assessment qualification within probation. Commitment to gain a subject-specific qualification to allow them to train to Level 3, within 2 years. Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies, within one year. Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year. Catering industry experience Food safety level 3 Qualification Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.Colleague Benefits
