As a brand that thrives on pushing boundaries and embracing challenges, NORQAIN is seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Director to lead its UK operations and amplify the brand's presence in this key market.

Tasks

The Country Director for the UK will play a pivotal role in driving the success of NORQAIN's operations in the United Kingdom, ensuring the brand's DNA-adventure, independence, and excellence-is reflected in all aspects of the business.

The Country Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the brand's operations in the United Kingdom, driving sales growth, implementing the brand's distribution strategy and enhancing brand visibility.

This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the luxury market, a passion for adventure, and a proven ability to inspire high-performance teams.

The Country Director will work closely with the International Sales Director, to develop and execute business strategies that align with NORQAIN's mission and global objectives.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the UK business strategy in alignment with NORQAIN's adventurous and independent brand ethos.
  • Identify market opportunities and risks, adjusting strategies to ensure sustainable growth and brand differentiation.
  • Lead the UK team with a spirit of adventure and innovation, fostering a culture that mirrors NORQAIN's commitment to excellence and high-performance.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Drive sales operations with a focus on achieving ambitious targets and expanding NORQAIN's footprint in the UK.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with premium retail partners, medias, buyers, and key stakeholders who align with NORQAIN's spirit.
  • Lead negotiations with high-end retailers and partners to expand and enhance the brand's presence in key locations.

Brand Management and Marketing:

  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning of NORQAIN's brand across all channels.
  • Collaborate with the global marketing team to design and execute UK-specific marketing campaigns and events that resonate with NORQAIN's target audience.
  • Oversee PR strategies that enhance NORQAIN's brand awareness and reputation as a bold and innovative Swiss watchmaker.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the UK P&L, ensuring profitability and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor financial performance, providing regular reports to the International Sales Director and other stakeholders.
  • Implement cost control measures while maintaining the brand's premium positioning.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the UK team, ensuring that each member is aligned with the company's values and goals.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the team, ensuring succession planning and career development.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, creativity and excellence.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all operations comply with local regulations and NORQAIN's ethical standards.
  • Manage any legal, financial, or operational risks associated with the UK business.
  • Work closely with the legal team to address any issues related to brand protection or intellectual property.

Reports to: International Sales Director

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the luxury goods industry, preferably with experience in the watch or jewelry sector.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability in a competitive market.
  • Strong understanding of the UK luxury market, with a well-established network of industry contacts.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills (e.g., German or French) are a plus.
