The Head of Procurement Operations will be part of DCC’s Procurement transformation, DCC is creating a Head of Procurement Operations role. This role reports into the Director of Procurement and will have 2 Procurement Analysts direct reports. Operating in a heavily regulated environment has driven the need to ensure the business operates in a compliant manner against the Procurement Policy, as well as working with the Commercial Operations and Planning team to ensure DCC is “audit ready”. What will you be doing? •            Working with the Director of Procurement to align a more fit for purpose Procurement Strategy and supporting Policy with Ofgem and DESNZ, to enable DCC to drive better value for money for customers and consumers •            Lead the change management approach across DCC once the Procurement Strategy and Policy have been agreed, with a view to embedding it across the organisation •            Interfacing with the rest of the Procurement team and Commercial Operations and Planning team to meet the demands of external audit •            Lead the continued rollout of Ivalua and other key technologies to drive more streamlined and efficient processes, working closely with the SME in the Commercial Operations and Planning team •            Act as the Procurement team SME for embedding DCC’s Responsible Business Framework (RBF) within the function and across DCC’s supply chain, working with and taking guidance from the Sustainability team What are we looking for? •            Significant senior Procurement experience with a demonstrable track record of implementation of streamlined processes including leadership and development of a small team •            Drafting and refining best in class Procurement policies with an understanding of regulated and a non-regulated Procurement and sourcing environments. Ideally with reference to secure and critical national industries •            An understanding or Implementation of ESG via Sourcing that aligns with the Net Zero aims by the UK Government. •            Being able to navigate and influence, in complex, secure and regulated environment, to drive change. •            Being a dynamic, forward-thinking self-starter, who can drive performance and best-practice Procurement within a changing and evolving environment •            Solution driven, innovator, focusing on total cost and value creation with experience with cross-functional collaborative working methods •            An analytical mind-set, comfortable manipulating large volumes of data with an outstanding track record of analytics, problem-solving, innovation and risk mitigation, in particular supply market research, spend analysis, business requirements analysis and bidder response evaluation •            Strong attention to details and proven ability to work in an open / auditable way fitting to a regulated environment including extensive risk management experience About the DCC: At the DCC, we believe in making Britain more connected, so we can all lead smarter, greener lives.
