About the Partners in Care and Health Programme (PCH)

The Local Government Association and Association of Directors of Adult Social Services are Partners in Care and Health (PCH) working with well-respected organisations. PCH helps councils to improve the way they deliver adult social care and public health services and helps Government understand the challenges faced by the sector.

The programme is a trusted network for developing and sharing best practice, developing tools and techniques, providing support and building connections. It is funded by Government and offered to councils without charge.

About ADASS

The Association of Directors of Adult Services (ADASS) exists to represent and support its membership of DASSs and their management teams. ADASS is also a charity which gives a national voice for social care. ADASS and the LGA work together as partners to lead PCH.

About the role and requirements

Are you passionate about data, providing insights and making a difference for adult social care? We are looking for someone with a keen interest in helping to support a programme of work for effective use of data and intelligence across Partners in Care and Health's offer of sector-led improvement for adult social care and public health. You will work closely with analysts in the PCH Research and Data Team to support PCH's sector led improvement support programme.

You will support colleagues to provide effective, high-quality research and analysis support, including building on-line surveys, data analysis, and producing case study and evaluation reports, and updating information publications using a variety of means, including web research and communication with local authority contacts.

You will help to develop and maintain reports, tools and visual representations of data, and intelligence for adult social care and carry out day-to-day ad-hoc requests to meet reporting and other data requirements.

About data and intelligence for adult social care

Data and intelligence for adult social care is becoming increasingly important and is experiencing a period of significant change through the development of client level data collections and linkage with health data. Working closely with ADASS regional networks this role will be an important part of ensuring that adult social care is able to maximise the opportunities for gaining insights and intelligence from the data available.

The role and work will be varied, and you will need to make sense of a range of data and information to provide quality insights for adult social care. We are looking for someone with good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and a concern for order and accuracy. An ability to work as part of a team and to support others is key for this role.

Duties for this role will include:

  • Supporting colleagues in the PCH Research and Data team to promote the use of intelligence to support sector led improvement for adult social care
  • Ensuring that robust arrangements are in place for any feedback and evaluation on events and support
  • Review and quality assurance of adult social care data and intelligence, tools and reports.

This is an exciting role for the right candidate with opportunities to be involved at this pivotal time for adult social care intelligence. The successful post-holder will be a key part of the Partners in Care and Health team. We are looking for team players with good data analysis and IT skills who can write and communicate well, and a willingness and ability to learn new packages as required.
