As an In-House Lawyer within Danske Banks legal team of 8 lawyers and 1 senior legal assistant, this role will provide you with the opportunity to engage and collaborate with various different business units locally and throughout the group on a wide range of matters and contribute to the Banks strategic priorities. Your primary goal will be to provide advice and guidance concerning legal and regulatory issues to internal stakeholders within the Bank as well as the preparation and perfection of some bank security and other documentation. You will deliver a quality, timely and cost-effective legal service by personally delivering high quality legal advice, research, reporting and recommendations. Youll also undertake your own work on a daily basis with limited supervision required (depending on the level of complexity / risk). Furthermore, you will exercise sound judgement as to when it is appropriate to escalate matters whilst supporting the General Counsel, Head of Legal Services and other Lawyers by undertaking such tasks as may be required by them. So, using your own initiative, paying attention to detail, having strong interpersonal skills, and coping with ambiguity and changing priorities are going to be your key strengths for this role. If you are highly motivated and like a challenge, have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a pragmatic approach, sound commercial judgement and a good sense of humour then this role is for you. Your skills: Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role: UK Qualified solicitor or barrister 1 to 5 years PQE would be ideal and at least ONE of the following Recent experience of working in the banking department of a law firm taking corporate security Recent experience of advising on insolvency and restructuring matters Experience of working in an in-house legal team for a retail financial institution Experience of advising on regulatory matters, preferably in relation to retail banking Experience of advising on general banking queries Experience of advising in relation to technology and digital initiatives for financial institutions How we work Our belief is that we are Better when Together and want to balance the benefits of teaming up in person with flexible working where possible. We will be supportive and flexible to your circumstances, so for roles that offer a hybrid option we ask colleagues to attend their base location a minimum of 3 days a week so they can connect, collaborate and learn together. The other 2 days can be worked either from home or another bank location.
